Wayne Walsh Wins Great Basin Finals

Wayne Walsh took the top prize tonight (Feb. 9th) in the Great Basin Open Mic comedy competition.  The Great Basin competition is a progressive open mic hosted by Matt Wiegand… it is one of the better and more consistent open mics in Northern Nevada.   The competition is a weekly event (Thursdays, 9pm) that runs every winter season at the Great Basin location in Sparks (Victorian Square).  Wayne beat out other finalists Andrea Black, Aaron Boigon, and Kyle George.    Both Wayne and Matt are Reno-based road comics who perform in clubs across the western United States.  Walsh is also the host of the weekly open mic at 3rd Street Bar (Wednesdays, 9pm).
