How funny do you think a cross between Don Rickles, Archie Bunker and a vial of estrogen would be? Makes you think, doesn’t it? Experience the answer to that question on Saturday, April 28 at 8 p.m. at Silver Legacy’s Grande Exposition Hall.

Lisa Lampanelli is one of the most high-profile insult comics today, known for her outrageous pot shots at celebrities and saying things that most people are afraid to think. She can dish it out AND take it! A regular on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and Howard Stern’s radio show, Lisa’s rise to the top of the comedy food chain began in 2002 when she was the only female comedian invited to skewer Chevy Chase on the NY Friars Club Roast on Comedy Central. She is also one of the few white comedians to perform on BET’s “Comic View.” Lisa has clearly cemented her crossover appeal.

Lisa appeared on “Comedy Central’s Last Laugh 2005” to great acclaim followed by her headlining performance on the Comedy Central roasts of Pamela Anderson and William Shatner that received national attention. Her one hour special, “Take It Like a Man,” was a hit and the CD and DVD of the same name placed #6 on the Comedy charts. Following this, in 2007, was her second hour long special titled “Dirty Girl,” that reached #4 on the Comedy charts and earned a Grammy Award for 2007’s Best Comedy Album of the Year.

Lisa’s hour long special on HBO titled “Lisa Lampanelli: Long Live the Queen” was taped in 2008 as was her 2010 special, “Tough Love,” again, for Comedy Central. You must be 18 or older to attend. Tickets are on sale now for $40 with premium seating for $55. Reserve your seats by calling 1-800-MUST-SEE (687-8733) or 775-325-7401 or visit us online at www.silverlegacy.com or ticketmaster.com. You can also find the latest updates on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the Silver Legacy iPhone and Android Apps.

If you haven’t heard about the hottest new sketch comedy event, “Renopocalypse,” I suggest you start planning! The end is coming and you should go out laughing! Some of the best comedians and performers from across northern Nevada want the opportunity to entertain you… in the best kind of way. Renopocalypse is a celebration of all the wacky, scary, grotesque, and demented revelations our Northern Nevada can envision. The impending event goes down on Saturday, April 21st at Studio on 4th (432 E. 4th Street, Reno) at 9pm.

Renopocalypse was founded by Reno-based comic Matt Wiegand and brings together more than a dozen Reno/Sparks and Carson City area comedians, improve artists, actors, and authors in a night of skit comedy, improv, video vignettes, and live stand-up.

This is the third and last show this semester of a monthly comedy series taking place late night on the first Saturday of every month. The series is supported by the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) program grant, which allows us to bring in comedians that will typically perform in Comedy Clubs that are only accessible to the 21 and over crowd.

Headliner – James Uloth

James is a comic who Hypnotizes the crowd with his mad ninja skills. He lures them in with a clever blend of wit and charm, then delivers the kill with nun chucks strung with hilarity. Using combination of story telling mixed with set up punchlines, James makes observations on every day situations we can all relate with. And all of this is happening while he’s politely pointing out some of the cultural contradictions that have become the status quo. James was ranked as the #1 comedian on Myspace in 2007, can be found regularly on XM radio and has been featured at the San Luis Obispo Comedy Festival, Headlined at the Calgary Comedy Festival and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Feature – Adam Stone
Adam Stone has been a professional working comedian for over 12 years. As a Hawaiian native, Adam shares his unique experience in the mainland as a minority among minorities. Adam is a clean comedian who is as fun as He is funny. Instantly likable and notably endearing, Adam is a hit in any venue.

“Have fun, give fun” is the motto which embodies the comedy of Hawaiian native Adam Stone. With an intent to truly embrace the moment and connect with people, Adam gets the audience laughing with well crafted material, physical comedy, improvisation and silly impressions, all through an onstage persona that is endearing and likeable.

Always the life of the party Adam, endeavors to share an experience that is both memorable and repeatable. Ever upbeat, full of life and dynamic, Adam is ready and poised to have a good time and share a lasting memory.

This week’s (4/4/12) Open Mic Comedy night at 3rd Street Bar (hosted by Wayne Walsh) was totally crazy! We had Michael Jackson who hangs out in some annoying lady’s purse; we had a newbie hit the stage for the first time (on his birthday none the less), and some guy who calls himself Neil O’Brien! When it came down the competition, it was a tough battle for the win. Kyle George, Pat Shillito, and Drake Nelson found themselves in a three-way run-off… then Kyle was eliminated and Pat and Drake had to duke it out. In the end, DRAKE NELSON pulled off the win! Come on down next week (4/11/12) to see what mad-funny stuff Drake comes up with for his longer set!
